Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Diogenes, Epictetus, Machiavelli, Descartes, Hume, Voltaire, Kant, Schopenhauer, Nietzschke, Kierkegaard, Sartre, Beauvoir, Camus and others are discussed to challenge readers with striking ideas and aim to arouse curiosity, not to satisfy it. The 11 philosophies in this book embody ideas of considerable force and fascination which can change lives by penetrating the illusions of appearance and the delusions of common sense by which life misleads us.
