We are told we can only go forward, but after my first Memory Lane Crewe book was so well received, I decided the people of Crewe must have a curiosity about the local past - especially a past in pictures. Photographs of the town recall the way we lived in the 19th and 20th century, the job of work we did, the changing fashions, the games we played and the pasttimes we enjoyed. Pictures show us how the centre of Crewe used to look before the demolition men moved in and altered the place forever during the sixties and seventies. People tell me that they like a trip down Memory Lane to look at the faces from the past and perhaps see friends or relatives, or even themselves.
